While it was drizzly and yucky here in the Tumwater area, we enjoyed sun & 75 degree weather on our Yoh! hike at Angel & Curtain Falls in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. We saw two beautiful waterfalls, tons of slugs & gross black bugs, as well as some really cool rock formations. The hike took us up & down some very big hills, but it was worth the effort to view the beautiful falls at the end. In all we hiked 4.5 miles. It was a lot of fun!

Me at the trail head. |
First bridge |
Second bridge. It was a bit scary to cross with that open side. |
A small falls further down on Covell Creek. |
Peekaboo view of Curtain Falls (also known as Covell Creek Falls) |
These huge rock formations were really neat, but the ledge/trail was really narrow in spots with a huge drop on one side. There were some people poking around in the caves. |
Looking upwards. |
Pam got to star in most of my photos because she stayed behind with me so I wouldn't get lost. I'm always the last one! |
One of a ton of slugs we encountered. |
Lily got hot so she decided to take a dip. |
Going over a make-shift bridge. |
How it looked from the other side. It was NOT very steady. |
Angel Falls. It is approximately 175 feet high. |
Those bugs we saw. They were everywhere! |
The trail is a figure eight. After Angel Falls we came back onto the other side of Curtain Falls. The view is much better from this side. |
Curtain Falls is approximately 75 feet high. You can see Tammy & Lily walking behind it. |
The infamous backside of a waterfall! |
Pam looking at flowers. This was on our return trip to our car. The sun was shining! |
